If you know something about Giada De Laurentiis, you know that she loves cooking—and eating—all items European. So when the people over at Giadzy, De Laurentiis’s recipe blog, asked her to narrow down which of her most favorite meals was really her favourite, we had to have a listen. Trust us, there’s some fierce opposition among those dishes, and De Laurentiis starts off by choosing between two quick masterpieces: her Sheet-Pan Lasagna and her sweet-spicy Roasted Broccoli &amp, Brussels Sprouts Salad. ” Uh, Sheet Pan Lasagna”, De Laurentiis says with a smile, a wink, and a look that says there is no comparison between the two. Next up is a face-off between Sheet-Pan Lasagna and Simple Bolognese, a timeless and hearty meal that her girl, Jade, loves. De Laurentiis immediately opts for the Bolognese, kicking the pasta to the pavement. The next two sessions feature delicious dishes like Zucchini Scarpaccia and Chicken Piccata Meatballs, which are beaten out by Simple Bolognese. But the food meets its suit when it comes up against De Laurentiis’s Lemon Spaghetti meal, a plain dinner you can make with just four components. Lemon Spaghetti then goes on to get every round to the end, simply edging out Lemon Ricotta Cookies, Chicken Marsala, Turkey Tuscan Soup, White Pesto and—once again—Sheet-Pan Lasagna. De Laurentiis eventually becomes very clear after having to choose between pasta and pasta. De Laurentiis claims that” Lemon Spaghetti will always be my beloved child.” The menu in question—Giada’s Original Lemon Spaghetti—is luscious still oh-so-simple. Unsurprisingly, it’s also a five-star enthusiast favorite, gaining popularity for being the No. 1 vendor at her Las Vegas cafe, GIADA. The pasta is coated in an unassuming soup made with olive oil, Parmesan cheese, grapefruit juice, lemon enthusiasm, salt and pepper. This soup is silky smooth and herbaceous, perfectly contrasting the citrus tastes, with fresh parsley and fresh pasta liquid finishing it off. De Laurentiis advises using lemon-infused olive oil if you really need to take the flavor of lemon to life. De Laurentiis also prepares the sauce in a serving bowl to make it easy so you can mix all together, make your noodles, shove everything together, and get ready to serve without using a second pot or pan. Be sure to slam a measuring cup into your bowl of pasta before draining because fibrous pasta water does the heavy lifting of heating up the no-cook ketchup and bringing all the ingredients together and harmonizing. Lemony pasta recipes are absolutely appealing to us. Our creamy lemon pasta with shellfish, grapefruit squash, and one-pot grapefruit lemon-broccoli pasta with cheddar are all delicious and healthy and only take about 25 minutes to prepare. De Laurentiis ‘ recipe is a great date night meal, but our lemony pasta recipes would also make great weekend specials.
