Pumpkin pepper, and all the associated festivities, ought to be reserved for later September. When fall is still officially in session, I ca n’t resist pumpkin spice, and I do n’t typically crave fall-flavored foods until the weather cools down. Therefore, it’s safe to say that I was reluctant to try Trader Joe’s most recent shop object, the pumpkin pepper tiny strip bread. It’s just too first! But I was persuaded by People, who are so pretty excited about this fresh taste. Fortunately, the sheet cake hit shops where I live over the weekend. This is n’t Trader Joe’s first foray into mini sheet cakes—if you caught its carrot mini sheet cake this summer, the pumpkin version will look familiar. ( Other flavors you may have tried include double chocolate, lemon, and vanilla bean. ) The bread is described as “moist, sweet pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese frosting,” packaged in a small cardboard tray with a beautiful addressing of cream cheese frosting. Is the pumpkin spice plate bread from Trader Joe’s worth the hype? Even though it’s still 80°F inside, I loved it! The pie has a light and fluffy texture and a mild flavor. If you love a sticky, deep, and greatly spiced pumpkin pie, this might not be for you–the bread itself is n’t that lovely or very greatly spiced. But with the sweet, sour cream cheese icing, the bread feels well-balanced with a mild love of pumpkin pepper. Frosting fans will appreciate this cake—it’s frosting-heavy. If you’re not, the icing is simple to peel off to your liking. This is the perfect dessert for a party or just-because treat if you do n’t have time or are n’t inclined to bake your pumpkin spice creations from scratch. Technically, this serves six ( not a bad deal for$ 5.49 ), but I have trouble imagining how to distribute it. As a limited-availability bakery item, there’s no telling when this will leave the shelves, so do n’t wait to try it!
